Rajkot gaming zone fire Death toll rises to 28

Rajkot (Gujarat), May 26 (UNI) The death toll in the massive fire that broke out in a game zone in Rajkot taluka of Gujarat has risen to 28, police said on Sunday.

Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel visited the accident site here this morning and enquired about the details of rescue operations including the cause of the accident.

Patel has written in a post on X that instructions have been given to the municipal corporation and administration for immediate rescue and relief work in this incident and also to give priority to the arrangements for immediate treatment of the injured.

The state government will give assistance of Rs 4 lakh to the families of the deceased and Rs 50-50 thousand to the injured.

He has said that it is very important to ensure that such an incident does not happen again.

No negligence will be tolerated in this incident. In this regard, an SIT has been formed and entrusted with the task of investigating the entire case.

It is noteworthy that there was a fierce fire in the TRP game zone on Saturday. As soon as the information was received, fire brigade personnel along with eight fire engines, including the Chief Fire Officer, reached the spot and with hard work, the fire was controlled. During this time the bodies of many people were removed from the spot.
